PodCampNYC 2007 was a blast!!!
I’ve uploaded more pictures from PodCampNYC! Click on the Flickr pictures in the right hand column - be sure to search Flickr for podcampnyc and I’m sure you’ll find more pictures!
I’ve also uploaded videos - ignore the vids of my kidlet and family stuff.
We had an awesome time and we have to thank all the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, speakers and participants. We met fantastic people and had so much fun. We have SO many people to interview and are looking forward to becoming a weekly show with a slightly different format/layout!! We’ve been inspired beyond belief! So much so that I’ll be launching my own podcast - the sites been up for a few months but I never did anything with it - Podpreneur. More on that another time - I’m still in planning mode!
We’re going to have the Lead Organizer of PodCampNYC, John C. Havens back on the show to talk about PodCamp and how we all think it went. If you haven’t already listened to our first interviews with John be sure to check it out!
We had the honor of basking in the presence of Leesa Barnes of Podonomics - who is deserving of a formal Congratulations!!! on her book deal! I can’t wait to read it! Leesa I have to thank you for our conversation in the lobby of The New Yorker just before you left. You were talking about dreams and you’ve moved me to rearrange a few things in my little world. I appreciate you, fellow Canadian!! It’s always great to be reminded of realizations from someone who is so down to earth. Can you believe we didn’t even get a picture together!? I’m not sure how that happened but NEXT time - cause I know there will be one - we’ll have to take a picture together… do you think you’ll come to NYC on your book tour!? I see it happening!
Adam Z of PodcastReady - if you read this… I thought of you on the way home when I ran into a lady with a dog on the train back to CT. I came up to the dog and said… “You are beautiful!” - She was Aggie, a strawberry and white colored siberian husky, ok that’s besides the point. So after I complimented the dog - her owner… answered for the dog… “She says thank you”. I instantly thought of you and the story you told me while we were volunteering at the registration table. Thanks for the laughs and the awesome work on our ‘new company’ Happy Sock!
A huge shout out to Natalie Gelman - a hugely talented singer/song writer - see you at Acoustic Cafe next time you come to CT! Please visit her site and listen to her music - she’s a pod safe musician and we were honored to meet her!
Stay tuned! We’ll be having a bunch of awesome guests on the show and we’re hyped to get started!
Big ‘Thank you!!’ to Ava of Ava Hosting for being our NYC tour guide! We had a great time even if we didn’t get to record a live in person podcast.
Congrats to my partner in podcasting - she’s decided to host PodCampDC! Quite the undertaking and she met a large amount of awesome people that are going to pitch in and help her with that! Woohoooo! Go Tammy!
So many people to mention, so little time! We’ll be posting about it again I’m sure.
See ya on the show!

You know, I was thinking about that last night - we didn’t even get to take a picture together. Weird, huh?
Thanks for the kudos and thanks for letting me shack up with you and Tammy over the weekend. It was fun and quite relaxing, although I fell asleep during one of the slide shows you were showing on the laptop on Saturday night. I’m not even sure how the lights went out, but I know that you or Tammy took care of that.

Thanks Leesa! The pic I took of you in the lobby from the balcony is on Flickr, as is the one of you and Bendrix on the subway - awesome picture!!
I knew you were tired so we just all went to the computer room across the hall.
It was really awesome meeting you and please stay in touch! I relistened to quite a few of your podcasts yesterday and am honored that we got to spend time with you!
Thanks!
